They split up really early because of some difficulties ( and I think to go with a big group like this you have to know each other for a long time )

Somewhere in Omsk it started with loss of Oil in the gearcase, which endet up in Novosibirsk as a broken bearing.

Just the Repair shop in Novosibirsk could not get spareparts:oops2:

So he took a plane to UB to meet up with the rest.

The bike must be back in Germany again because he sells it there.

I feel sorry for him that he could not see Mongolia from the best side and hope for him, that he does that one day again.

The Road to Novosibirsk is kind of a Russian highway, if you drive this the first time it is quite impressing, but it is nothing compare to the Altai and Mongolia.

I was just wondering why a Trailer with the mechanics turns around because of a flat tire.
And why the Mechanic in Novosibirsk did not get the right bearing.

I think, if Russians can handle something on the road, than it is fixing tires and find bearings...

Merci Beaucoup Klaus, alles klar!
Yes, rather a weird travel story.

Hi All,
Its been a while!
Yes I know and you have all the rights to be unhappy with me not replying earlier.

Thing was, that things were over my head at that time.

Let me summarize:
The film was planned to be 90 minutes but cut down to 30.
That is one of the reasons why the tire story got through badly.
All 4 tires were broken and as these were not available in Russia this was the end.
(Yes - the tire issue was our fault - no need for bashing)

The story continued (in short) that the bike was repaired in Novosibirsk to highest standard!
Getting the spare parts to Russia was whole different different and complex story!!!!

When the bike well, it was shipped by the trans-sib train to Moscow.
I picked it up on 29. Sept and rode the 2500kms back to Germany in 48 hours.

Now I have a XT 1200 and hope to do it again one day.

Sorry again for late response!
Axel
