Tires BAM and ROB suggestion

Hello guys,

I have a CRF 1000, what could be a good tire compromise, to be used in the section Zigalovo-Severobaykalsk (via BAM) -Tynda-Jakutsk-Magadan?

Regards Fabio

TKC 80 seem to be popular for this type of trip:mchappy:

I know them, I doubt the duration along the way, they also speak well of the Heidenau K60, maybe longer lasting

Just if you want a tire that looks good. If you want a tire that lasts long, better to for Heidenau or Mitas E07!

Tyres

I would use on the front a Michelin Desert on the rear Mitas Eo7 with the rib around the centre raise or lower the pressure to suit conditions.

I would not recommend the TKC 80 for that section. Its not a good off road tyre. Much better suited to mixed riding of gravel roads and asphalt (though there are far better choices for that too)

A tough sidewall more off road tyre would be my recommendation for Western BAM as part of a longer ride.

I would consider: Michelin Desert or Desert Race, Mitas E09 Dakar, Goldentyre GT723, Pirelli Scorpion Rally, Dunlop D908 in the 140/80 rear size

Thanks, in fact I thought of Mitas e10 Dakar, what do you think?

I dont know much about it. It looks a bit less aggressive than the E09 Dakar, ... it definitely looks like a Karoo / TKC80 substitute, but I am sure it will still do the job.
