Tajik visa, word of caution
I submitted a visa application for my MC travels to Tajikistan. It went to the Washington DC embassy. The passport came back with no visa and no explanation. An email was ignored. I called them and asked what the problem was. He said he wanted a copy of the flight reservations and a copy of my hotel reservation. The form asks for a place where I would be staying, which was filled out on the form.
I asked him why he kept my visa fee ($75) and he said that is just the way it is. I suggested to him I submitted exactly in accordance with the requirements as stated on the website and what I have done twice before in previous years, but he was obviously not interested. So, it may be a good idea to add this information to your application and maybe call them to confirm what the demands of the day are. Anybody have a guesthouse / contact info in the south / east who might cooperate in getting a confirmation. KP |

Since mid June 2016, you can apply for a e_visa (and GBAO permit) here:
https://www.evisa.tj/index.evisa.html We applied on the road last summer and we had it cleared done and dusted within 24h with email attaching visa and GBAO permit. Just needed a printer to print it. It is also cheaper online I think. Worth it. |
I plan on returning to Tajikistan this year. Did the e-visa yesterday. $50 for the visa and $20 for the GBAO. It was very easy and very user friendly. Got the visa letter same day by email.
