Selling motorcycles in Mongolia ?

We are planning to make an expedition from France around the world followed by our schools. In order to use less money, we would like to sell our motorcycles (Honda transalp) in Asia (Russie-Mongolie).


Is it always possible to sell the motorcycles in Mongolia ?


I heard about a place named The Oasis ? linked with that problematic.

sound interesting, your sales approach. Mongolia is not my region but I am running a business in Kyrgyzstan. So, if you would manage to get the bikes here after your trip, or just add another journey down here...

I would be generally interested in buying your mates.
On the other hand it depends a bit what you are riding and the parts you also want to get rid of after your trip.

I have always some requests from tourists and in the past could manage to find some solutions.

You can ask at Oasis, but it changed a lot there.

The guy who bought all the bikes has now the River Point lodge in Gachuurt 20km east of UB.

He runs it with Rene, the former Owner ( one of them ) from the Oasis.

You might ask there.

But keep in mind, a lot of people sold Transalps and other bikes there, so you might not get much for it anymore.

Thank to you both for your answers, we sent a message to René, the guy from the Oasis, and we have a mail contact to ask our questions.

Do you know if there is administrative issues about going out of the country (Mongolia) without the bikes that we have at the entrance ? Or if there are ways to avoid penalties if it is the case.

You need to pay the import taxes for the bike and do the custom paperwork.

You need someone to help you there.
Rene knows people who can do that.
