Selling an EU-reg bike in Kyrgyz or Taj
 

I've figured out an affordable way to get some bikes to Kyrgyz.

I also found out one will get a temporary importation permission for 6 months which can be extended.

There are two questions that still puzzle me.

How can the 6 months permission be extended without the vehicle owner available?
What are the proceedings?

What are the options to sell the vehicle after the ride?
Has anybody done this before?

Hi Wauschi,

Lots of travellers seem to store their bikes in Osh (Kyrgyz) at Patrick's house (muztoo.com) for the winter. So you should contact him.


Things may have changed, since Kyrgyz joined the Russian custom zone, but last summer there were still lots of European bikes stored at his house.


Also, depending on the bike's model, you may find interested buyer(s). Both Patrick and another lad (one of his staff I think!) were offering to buy my husband's TTR250 last summer!
