Riding Russia and Mongolia

I will be riding from Kazak into Russia, into Mongolia and then back into Russia and down to Vladivostok. I will only have a 30 day tourist visa for Russia. Is this enough time to do this trip?

cyclopathic 4 May 2019 23:28

It's enough but the dates on 30-day tourist visa are firm so if you are late you loose days.

I think you are describing two entries into Russia, so make sure you have a multiple entry visa or you need two 30-day visas. They will not let you in the second time on a single-entry visa.

FWIW I was told you can't get a second visa until previous is used.

This is misleading and incorrect.

With a 30 day double entry visa you can make two entries, but you must complete both stays in Russia within the 30 day period - within the exact dates specified on the visa.

Personally, I think it's very tight timewise, but doable.

Definitely not true.

If your visa agency tells you that, then they are not able to doit.
Just get another one which is better.

My apologies, I was going from my memory of the same trip two years ago, but in the opposite direction (Vlad to Kazakhstan). I ended up getting the 1-year multiple-entry "business" visa, but it was probably because I wasn't sure I would be through in a month. I've edited the post to remove the incorrect information.

All the best in your planning,
Dominik.

That's what people in consulate told me you would think they'd know right?

klausmong1 5 May 2019 12:39

if you go to the consulate to save money than this is stupid, sorry.

I have done that several times now and always even applied for a multi entry business visa, which is even harder go get.
It was never a problem with a proper agency.

And I heard that so many times what you say and if you go to the consulate it is true, because you need a different invitation, but that is easy to get if you know how.

So no, it is not true if you apply with a visa agency.
It is easily possible to get all visas.
Even the first time.

You can get multiple entry visa. You can't have 2 open visas at the same time. Maybe it's different for your country.

No, same here, you cannot get 2 visas at the same time in a passport.

But you can get a Multi entry visa or a double entry visa, even if you go to Russia the first time.
