Riding in Russia/Mongolia 3..?
 

Hello :mchappy:, people not new to long European trips, but never been to Russia/Mongolia.
Wish to enter Russia 1St July, and be leaving vladivostock end of September and head back to Europe.

1...So if we take the journey from Moscow, said a safe 300 miles everyday, what would be the average time to reach the western Russian/Mongolia border take the south loop Road round to Ulaanbaatar and leave by nearest exit and ride to vladivostock..NO GPS.

2...places to stay, are there campsites and hotels on the way, I presume there are, so can I just roll up and up pay and stay. I presume I can.

3...Russian visa, I just tried to apply for a Russian, UK citizen, the form asked for the hotels I would be staying at, who, I:e which company can I use to bypass this.

Why no GPS? What is your calculation of how much time it would take? Others can let you know if that is realistic...

Not necessarily true. Very few formal campsites out that way, but you can wild camp almost anywhere in Russia or Mongolia, although best to do it out of sight of the road. Abundance of hotels depends very much on where you are.

Map only,why? First you are going to Moskow, and thats bad place without GPS..been there, done that..Route Moscow-Ulan-Ude-Ulan bator is doable with map only, but if you are going to drive southern / north route in Mongolia, GPS with openstreetmaps is something that you really NEED there..
