Motorbike parking in Volgograd and Biškek / Osh

hello everyone,
I'm planning to leave my Africa Twin in Volgograd from the first week of June to the beginning of August.
Does anyone has a recommendation on a secure place to leave it?

At the end of August I'm then planning of parking it in Kyrgyzstan for approximately 10 months, as it seems being the only country on the way to Mongolia where this is still possibile.
I've tried to reach out with Motzoo via email but haven't been successful so far, any recommendation on secure places to leave a Motorbike in Kyrgystan for few months would be really appreciated.

thank you,
fede

Parking in Osh

Hello
I have Kirgiz friend in Osh. I parked in his place my 4x4 cars during my "backpack" travel in China.
Write me on my mail from my web site.
Regards

There is a moto-travel company in Osh called Muztoo, run by Austrians (Swiss?). I bet they would store it; they are on the Hubb, try to find them.

Not sure about long term vehicle storage in Kirgistan anymore. From august 2015 Kirgistan is in Eurasian Customs Union and all temporary import shall apply as for Russia regulations- 3 months with possible extension. Same as with Belarus and Kazahstan...

Also, you could run into timing issues with your temporary import if you've leaving the bike in Russia that long--the temp import is only good for three months, and from what I've heard you don't want to overstay them. It is possible to renew your temporary import if you do so before the old one expires.

hi there,
thank you everyone for your reply.

I will leave the bike in Russia for 2 months only and, since i'm planning of getting a multiple entry business visa for myself and a 3months permit for the motorbike, there shouldn't be any problem

re: Kyrgyzstan yes or no, I was aware as well of the impossibility of leaving the bike there, until I bounced in this recent post from Mutzoo.com

I did try to get in touch with him but haven't received an answer yet...will try again shortly.

cheers
fede

OK, but the question is whether you plan to get to Volgograd, leave the bike there for two months, and get out of Russia within 3 months? If not, you'll need to extend your temporary import.

federive 3 Feb 2016 09:06

Yes I am.
plan is to pickup the bike from Volgograd and leave Russia towards Kazakistan as soon as possible ;-)

Eshark 6 Feb 2016 18:24

Eurasian Customs Union countries are Russia, Kazahstan, Kirgistan and Belarus.
You have 3 months to leave this zone, otherwise you shall extend temporary import permit in any of those countries.
If you feel that you are going to run out of time, I would suggest you live bike in Ukraine instead of Volgograd.

I'm currently thinking of driving in one leg from Italy to Osh,
where it's likely I'll leave the bike chez Muztoo

anyone driving eastward from Europe in august?

cyber-zebb 10 Feb 2016 19:27

Patrik of Muztoo based in Osh can sort your storage out for you

Hi. Sorry for not getting back. Was on the road.....

In Kyrgyzstan it is by law possible to store up to 12 months for free. BUT: you need to be firm on your entry papers.

I do have a pdf with more instructions.
