I hope to be in Magadan within a week.

Anyone have details of the shipping guy there, who can arrange a cargo ship to Vladivostok? Is it Yuri?

In Magadan, you need to go the the Transfes Office. Its next door to the Ocean Hotel (Okean), on the road to the port. ocean Hotel is one of my bookmarked waypoints.

Here's what I have for Transfes from 2011, can't vouch for its accuracy:

Note that in 2011, we went to Tranfes and they said that the bikes had to be crated to be shipped, which opened up a series of issues--where to have it crated, how to have them transported in crates to the port, etc.

So we asked them where else we could go, and they sent us down to some shipping company in the port that had a boat leaving the next day. This shipping company agreed to take the bikes, hoisted them onto the deck, and off they went.

I'd never heard of any other bikes having to be crated, so not sure what was going on there.
