Looking for a F650GS battery in Moscow/St Petersburg/Tallinn/anywhere in between!

Can anyone recommend anywhere in Moscow where I'm likely to be able to buy a battery to fit my 2006 F650GS? I've searched the forum which came up with a couple of recommended mechanics who I've emailed. Interested in if there's any mechanics who keep a good stock of spare parts or preferably a shop that focuses on spare parts and is likely to have one in stock. Websites, emails and locations are appreciated. I don't speak Russian so phone numbers are less useful at this stage.

Many thanks,
Mike

Dean at buy@motorezina.ru , Website MOTOREZINA.RU - свежая моторезина по разумным ценам. motokolesa, мотоколеса, моторезина, резина для мотоциклов , does tyres. Me can hopefully point you in the right direction for a battery. Or if you're already in Moscow, flag down a passing biker.

Mike:
If there is a Harley Davidson Dealer in Moscow, the HD catalog shows several batteries that will fit in the space you have. The battery in my 2009 G650GS crapped out between the Georgia and Azerbaijani border control pints. I found a 9 Ah battery in Ganja, but it was cheap and wasn't going to make it. I got to Baku, and did some research online for batteries that would fit, and HD shows, as I said, several. When I went to the dealer, they only had the expensive on in stock (or so they said). But it fits and it works. Good luck.

Okay, thanks for the suggestions.

The suggestions have been helpful and I'm going to try them tomorrow. I've emailed around 20 companies and so far most of those who have replied are asking for nearly 9000 rub for a battery which is crazy. I'd also be interested to hear of any useful shops in Tver, St Petersburg, Tallinn, Riga, etc.

Basically I'm on my way home with only 2500 miles to go. Given the battery problems I've had I'm just looking to buy a spare battery ASAP in case my current set up dies between now and UK. Given that the bike is still working and my already trashed budget, there's no way I can justify spending nearly €200 on a battery in Moscow given that I can get a good one in the UK for £50!

If you're just slabbing it home, buy a cheap car battery and strap it to the seat behind you. Connect it to the terminals with high ampage cable. A 12v car battery does the same as a 12v bike battery.

That's the setup I have already so would prefer to find a smaller/lighter weight option if possible. If I can't get the right battery I'll chance it and hope I get there

Hi all. I found a battery and wanted to share the info for anyone searching the forum in the future. Thanks to the recommendation of Chris above. I spoke to Dean he gave me the details of a shop called Mr Moto. They stock lots of clothing and also generic spares. It's a great shop. They had a Yuasa battery for 2790 rub. You can find them here:

37.64764

They didn't have the battery acid though so I had to buy that at a very good car parts shop down the road. They stock all fluids, lights, generic spares, tools etc. Again reasonably priced. You can find them here:

Thanks again to Chris and Dean
