Kazakhstan Hotel for visa form
Hi,
I need to identify a hotel for our Kazakhstan visa form. We'll be entering from Bishkek to Almaty and out via Semey. Any suggestions? Ta very much! |
Put down Almaty Guest House, Almaty...thats all you'll need.
|
I'm applying for the same visa myself and have put down the Holiday Inn in Almaty.
What have you done about section 18. It asks you to state a contact in Kaz or persons organising your travel? Russ |
That was my next question!
|
I'm just going to leave it blank. I'm heading down the embassy tomorrow so i'll let you know how it goes.
Russ |
Yes, leave the contact section blank. I think its only applicable if you have LOI (think some countries need that)
Re hotel, pick one from the lonely planet or something like that. Doesn't make any difference. Cheers |
Accomodation and contact in Almaty
See this post I just made on another thread.
http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/hub...0-3#post229846 I am a UK biker, living in Almaty, offering free accomodation and address contacts if necessary. Drop me a text on +77012217670 (no phone calls from outside KAz please!) |

We have only just signed up to Horizons Unlimited although have been looking at all the information on the website for a while. As I have no previous post I cant private message you yet but hope that you will see this message. My husband and I are travelling on our bike from the UK to Vladivostok this year. We will be going through Atyrau approximately around 30th June 2012 and wondered your friends might be around, but I realise the post is quite old. We are sorting our visas at the moment and wondered if you had to book the accommodation you put on the visa application? The visa agent website asks for booking confirmation so I'm going to check that with them aswell. |

Did you have to send your passport away or hand it in? I had to apply for Russian one while in Oz and nearly missed my flight cos the passport was on the way back. I want to get all the stans visas, but as it wont be for a few months yet(late July) it is still a bit early yet, but getting close to thinking about it, but need the passport for travel. Just curious in your experience, and how you proceeded with this. Also did you need the letter of invitation? Are you doing the other Stans, same questions apply Cheers TS |

But if you have only one passport you would be looking at little longer. I think with a bit of pleading you could get the Kirg and Tadjik ones a little quicker. A big thing is the opening days of the embassies. We missed the getting to Tadjik one on Thursday so that meant waiting to Monday before we could apply. |
Hotel booking
You may find that they require you to have a hotel booking confirmed. That was the case for me, I made a booking with Saraichik Hotel, Almaty for three days. That seems to have satified the bureaucratic machine for the time being, though from what I hear they sometimes require bookings for the whole stay!!
My passport is with the consulate in London now so hopefully I've got it right! Dan |
Yes that is correct. We needed to do this for Kaz. Also for a night in Tadj.
Found David at Stantours enormous help, both he and Alena gave us heaps of help above and beyond what we paid them for, even before I gave them any money. Thoroughly recommend them they are fantastic. |
OK thanks, I must have missed that about two passports, would have been real handy like!!
Well, I may have to apply when I arrive in England, I should not need a passport there, it will be tight and I won't have time to do all the Stans, Kazak I need anyway and of course Kyrgystan to enter China, so the others I will try and get if I have time. And I do NOT want to spend any time in London if I can help it, I would prefer to mail it in using a courier. Thanks for the info Cheers TS Quote:

Anyway gave us some more time to look about the UK. Are you doing Tadj and UZ as well? Cheers, Craig |
Once I cand get back into Germany from the south, I will be visiting people for a week or so, then I can send it in, maybe here in Bonn. After that I can head to England.
I will do Taj and Uz if I can get the visas without missing out on what I want to do. Once I leave England, then I can maybe get another down in Berlin, we shall see Sorry for the thread hijack, OP Cheers TS Quote:

Ditto for Stantours. They are great, as are our visa people Travcour in London (shameless plug there for Travcour but they have gone beyond the call of duty!) Dan |
Latest info on visas.
An update to this thread. From mid July this year to mid July next, citizens of the following countries can get a 15 day visa at their point of entry. Full details on the Kaz visa website. If you're going to be in the country for more than 5 days you must register. A hotel should be able to do it for you, otherwise follow the advice on the migration form. I didn't and got a load of grief when I left the country. They had the right to send me back to the nearest town to register but didn't. They just kept me waiting for 1.5 hours before letting me leave.
And talking about officialdom, watch out for Kaz speed traps. They just want youre money. United States, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and the Federal Republic of Germany, the French Republic, the Italian Republic, Malaysia, the Netherlands , United Arab Emirates, South Korea and Japan. Real Russia in London did a great, tho' not cheap, job for me in getting me a Russian and Kaz visa. I got my Mongolian visa in Moscow at their embassy's visa offices. I have heard that you can get a Mongolian visa now at the border but their website does not say this applies to UK citizens although it does to many others. Geoff |
