Import duty at Turkish border for carried tyres?

I'm soon off to Mongolia and the stans via Turkey and intend to carry a spare rear tyre. I seem to remember reading somewhere that the Turkish authorities impose charges at the border for tyres that are carried on the bike. I've searched this site and googled but can find no mention of this anywhere.

Does anyone have any experience or knowledge of this?

If it is the case that I will be charged alot of money then I will change tyres a little earlier on Bulgaria!

Cheers

Dan

I had second set of tyres with me on 2010 trip to Stans via Turkey and had no issues on the border with this: http://www.juvander.fi/site/ilpo/Hom...-Istanbul.aspx

Its free to enter paradise Turkey with a spare rear and front tyre, battery, chain set or whatever you keep for the bike as spare parts..
Never a problem at any bordergate to Turkey.

Wish you all the best.

Never had any problems at the Greece-Turkey border. I have NL plates. All EU plates should be ok. Non-EU, I don't know.
