Flying a bike between north America and South Korea

I have added the information to the shipping database bit will put some here as well for people searching.

LEI, Loch Evers International, flew 2 bikes from Vancouver, BC, to Seoul for us in May 2013.

Locher Evers International

$2900 as dangerous goods.

Crating can be done at Pacific Motosports in Richmond,BC. Pacific Motosports Vancouver BMW Triumph Aprilia Moto Guzzi Husqvarna MV Agusta Motorsports Motorrad Used Motorcycles Scooter Richmond Vancouver Surrey, BC, Canada. They usually charge $100 for the crate and will add some labour time for help given. The crates are metal framed, so no wood certification needed.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm thinking of doing similar this winter. Well, actually shipping to Thailand, riding for a bit then shipping to S. Korea. Had a couple of questions:

How long can the bike remain in S. Korea? I was thinking about staying for about a year... Do you need Korean license to ride there? Did you need a Carnet? Where did you get insurance from? Any tips or advice you learned from your shipping experience that you would do different?

Thanks! lev
