Dushanbe accommodation
 

Hi all I am in Dushanbe & have a nice hotel for a couple of nights to treat myself after the Wakhan road.
I need one more nights accommodation here,the hotel will only let me stay 2 nights due to prior bookings. Can anyone recommend somewhere for under $35 a night?

Bertrand beat me to it. I've not stayed there but I'm looking into a Central Asia trip myself and found the Yeti Hostel too.

Feet stayed dry, got wetter splashing through some of the water filled potholes after leaving Khorog. Knees took a pounding though!

Great, let us know all about it. Are those GPS co-ords Bertrand provided accurate? Is it easy to find? What's it like? Pics would be nice too.

Yeti hostel. 38.57920 68.73968 according to my SPOT, don't use GPS. Not too difficult to find as I used the very useful visual guide on their website, the instructions were not entirely clear but the pics were very handy. The main road being shut for roadworks was a fly in the ointment but a police officer let me ride through the barriers and through the road works.
The hostel is on the 6th floor of a block of flats, the lift doesn't stop on the 6th floor so go to floor 7 & walk back down one level. Its the furthest back from the road of 3 buildings.
Hostel itself is compact, with an 8 bed dorm & two 4 bed forms, all bunkbeds, no lockers but has aircon. A nice common area, 2 toilets, 2 showers & a very small kitchen area with fridge, microwave & kettle.
Its nicely done, well decorated & very clean. Easy to get into town & has local shops & eateries close by.
