Drones

Hi,

Has anyone had any experience using/bringing camera/video recording drones into the countries into this region?

Did the authorities have any problem with you bringing it into the country at the borders, what about whilst using it?

With the new range of autonomous 'tracking' drones being launched in the next 6-12 months I thought it would be worth discussing. I know they are essentially just cameras that happen to be able to fly but I think that some countries/officials may treat them with suspicion.

Any experiences??c?

I like the look of this unit: Super compact, 65 km/h, gimbal camera stabiliser.

I know of others who have brought drones into Russia before with no problems at customs.

That's pretty cool.

And while I wouldn't be too worried about bringing them in, or using them in most places, using them around a border or a military base might not be all fun and games. Probably be pretty cool to have one of these for portions of the Road of Bones though.

Yes it was the AirDog or the LillyCam that I was thinking of getting because you can set it to follow you, thought it would be cool in some of the rural areas to use it, I imagine it's useless in the city though as it can't detect objects.

They're a bit funny with drones here in the UAE, they've actually banned them now. As long as I can get a drone in and out of a country without an issue I should be fine as I wouldn't use it around any military or government installations or urban areas anyway.

Thanks for the info.
