Cheap acccomodation in Tokyo

Is there such a thing as cheap accomodation in Tokyo. We checked in to a Hotel in Chiba, but as we are staying a few days while we arrange transport for ourselves and our bikes to Vancouver, we are looking for somewhere cheaper.
Thanks,
Chris.

Cheap accomodation in Tokyo

One option would be staying in a so-called "Love Hotel". I was told that the rooms look "nice", are clean and it is cheaper than one of those hotels. (NO, I never stayed in one - maybe I should try some day??

You might also want to check this homepage:

Guest houses in Japan - Japanese guest houses - cheap places to stay in Japan

People also recommend this place: The New Koyo at Economy Backpackers Hotel NEW KOYO

Here another one: Tokyo Backpackers Matsushima Hotel. Twizi! Tokyo hostels

Maybe you just want to YAHOO or GOOGLE for backpacker hotels in Tokyo. You will come up with lots of options.

Hope this helps at least a little ...

Just did another check - maybe this is more convenient (at least $$$$$$-wise)!?!?! Tokyo Backpackers in Tokyo – Japan –

The New Koyo is basic but fine, and its in a quiet street where you should be able to park a bike without any trouble. Its also about a 5 minute walk from a Metro stop.

If you really want to save money, you can put your gear in a locker at the Ueno Metro station and camp in the park that is near there. There is an area (about as far from the train staion as you can get) with tons of people camping and living there.

Yeah but Ueno park is hobo central except for when it is Sakura time. Many of these people have some very serious mental problems.

I've slept in some VERY shady places when I've been on the road but I wouldn't do it in Ueno park.
