Border Armenia-Turkia

hello

The Armenian-Turkish border has historically been closed but I found this news from November 2023,

Does anyone know if there has been any progress?

could be open this summer

It would be a great advance

thank you

Clearly not on any timeline that is useful for real planning.

Thankfully the Georgian border is open.

Correctly there is no schedule to plan a trip

It would be possible to cross from Turkey to the separate territory of Azerbaijan and from there to Armenia and back through Georgia

Has anyone done it recently?

hello
Armenia/ Azerdaidjan borders are close including nakitchevan

The asterisk there is that by the peace terms of the last couple of Azerbaijan-Armenia wars (which Azerbaijan won), Armenia is supposed to permit a corridor for transit between Nakhichevan and "mainland" Azerbaijan (in this case I suppose to mean what used to be Nagorno-Karabakh). So, depending on how military-only that road is/will be, it may be possible in the near or medium term to actually cross from Nakhichevan into Azerbaijan proper.

Mind you, Azerbaijan's land borders are still closed to non-cargo overland traffic. So even if there was no war tension between AZ and AM, you would not really be able to cross from Turkey into Nakhichevan.

The positive side is that it appears that between Georgia and Turkey, you can now cross over the smaller southern road passes too, not just the Batumi main road.
