Azerbaijan by motorcycle 2018

Can anyone tell me how it is going through Azerbaijan by motorcycle these days? I was going to go from Iran into Turkmenistan but am having alot of trouble getting a Turkmen visa and am about to give up and re-route.
Does Azerbaijan require a carnet or any sort of deposit? Also is it possible to get a transit visa?
I will probably still do a side trip into Iran as I have the visa, then hopefully go back into Armenia and then into Azer.
Any feedback gratefully accepted.

no need carnet or deposit , e visa for 24 dollars,in this country, i advice you to check the current situation in caucasus, armenia-azerbaidjan all borderlines closed !

in fact, If they think that you have been in an abandoned Azerbaidjan Enklave in Armenia, you will be refused to enter !!!

But going into Azerbaidjan is easy, just get your evisa, that takes 4 days and go in, nothing else, no need for transit visa.

I did that last years for the same reason.
