Armenia - Turkey landborder
 

Hello,

Does anyone know if there is an open land border between Turkey and Armenia, for example at Akhurik-Akyaka?

I read that some trucks crossed into Turkey for earthquake relief efforts, but I could not find any information if tourists are now allowed to cross.

I plan to ride my motorbike from Armenia to Turkey in June of 2023.

This article states that the border will initially be open to diplomats and 'third party nationals', i.e. not Turkish and Armenian passport holders, which sounds a bit odd.

It's not explicit but the impression I get is that the border was not open when the article was written three weeks ago.

I would wait for an official confirmation in the press before going out there, and don't rely on it actually opening this year, despite the announcements.
