Temporary import of UK registered bike - slight twist
 

Hi All

I'm looking to spend some time touring the U.S over a period of 8-10 weeks, but I won't be able to do the trip in one go.

I'm looking to ship my UK registered bike over, then ride for 4-5 weeks. I'll then store the bike securely somewhere in the U.S and return to my job for 10 weeks or so.

After the 10 weeks, I'll fly back to the U.S and collect the bike, before touring for another 4-5 weeks and finally shipping the bike back to the U.K.

I'm just wondering if I'd be allowed to leave the bike behind, while I'm out of the country, then return at a later date to export it back out again ?

I should have room in the garage that time to provide a place to store your bike, but I may not be anywhere near where you plan to be when you split your trip. If you want to chat about that, just send me a PM with your email. I can also put you in touch with some of the other travelers who've either stayed or stored things here. I may be able to help you hunt more commercial types of storage, too. Just let me know.
