Surprise Yukon trip - a few questions
 

Hello all,

I suddenly have 3 weeks free unexpectedly and will be riding up to the Yukon and possibly the panhandle of Alaska in two days from Alberta. I'm wondering if anyone knows of any resources with up to date info on gas station closures, free camping sites or motorcycle-friendly mechanics? I plan on stopping in at visitor centres, but if anyone knows of any websites with up to date info, that'd be great!
As a side note, I've found the website The MILEPOST to be helpful for distances between towns and road conditions, but apparently the book is a massive 700 pages and the app requires an internet connection to work (both options don't really work for packing light and moving with limited internet).

Go and enjoy. I personally like takini and laird hot springs and the campbell loop from watson lake north. If you get up to Dawson city it is worth it with the dempster highway and the top of the world high way. If you go up the cassiiar stop at Hyder just for the fun of it and the scenery.

It's all good and just prep before you go with good tires and know how to repair them. I have used the milepost just by tearing out the sections that apply. Fill up with gas often and have a decent range. There really aren't that many roads so just ask the locals and head north and enjoy hours and hours of daylight.

Also be ready for RAIN or dust or as one person stated "dusty puddles".
