Shipping or rent?
 

Hello to all,
planning a trip to the United States, from New York, for a total time of 4-5 weeks.
I really convenient Renting a motorcycle or my shipping from Italy?
If anyone is aware of the price and timing, I would be very helpful,

Renting is not cheap but if you look around you maybe able to get a bike with insurance for $150 a day , the problem is that maybe they will limit you in a state by state rental agreement . Harley and BMW are a big source for rental , check on the Yellow page in us and you will find plenty

My 'rule of thumb' for UK to USA would be for any trip longer than three weeks, ship your bike out there. Any less, rent. I've done the trip twice so far, the first (six weeks) by air (Air Transat booked through HC Travel) and the second (three months) by sea (Wallenius Wilhelmsen from Southampton). These were in 2002 and 2006 so my prices would be out of date.

We shipped with Air Canada, London to Montreal in 2011 for £680 per bike.

I'd ship into Canada if I was you - avoid the hastle of the states.

Easy and nice ride down through NY state.

Insurance online with Progressive.

I'd ship If trip longer than three weeks or if you want to go off road.
