Selling a bike in North America
Hi Folks,
I'm currently in Santiago, Chile heading north. Eventually (of course there's no guarantee that I'll get there) heading for North America. It cost about what the bike is worth to ship it to Buenos Aires and it will cost about the same to ship it back. I'd rather it went to a good home or at least someone heading south. I understand good Teneres are hard to find in NA. How much hassle is it to sell the bike in the USA or Canada? It is a UK registered 1991 3AJ Tenere. Thanks, Duncan. |
Hey Duncan whats your timescale? I wont be arriving in North America until September so I realise that it will be too late for you but it could be possible to store it somewhere until I arrive?
:offtopic:I am planning to drive from Florida-ish to Rio and would appreciate any hints tips that you can pass on to me. I am hoping to camp most of the way wherever possible including wild camping, not only to keep down the costs but also so that I can just stop wherever the mood takes me. Like I said any tips will be welcomed, I am completely new to long distance travel on a motorbike but have travelled extensively using trains/buses and even a bicycle when I was in Asia so dont feel as if what you want to tell me is patronising it will be received with gratitude. Keep upright Bill:scooter: |

Duncan, Hello. Have you completed your trip to the United States? What is the shipping cost to transport your motorcycle from the USA to Chile? I may be interested in the Tenere. Also, I may be interested in visiting Chile in the future. Perhaps two one-way trips could be mutually beneficial. If not, I have friend who is looking for a dual sport on a budget. Take care, David San Diego, CA; USA |
