cbr125 regina to vancouver/ Studding Dirt tires?

I will be riding from Regina, Sask to Vancouver next week. Just wondering if there are any people out there that would like to meet up for a ride? Spending a few days in Vancouver, then the rest of the week around Victoria island.

Also, does anybody know if I can put dirt tires on my 08 cbr125? I am planning to stud the tires and ride it this winter. Last year I learned that a street bike, snow, and street tires don't mix... twice! So instead, I made a sidecar for my 76 XT500 and used that for winter. But this year I figured I try it again, only properly! And considering how well my scabby sidecar worked, I may make one for the cbr too.

Any info on studding knobbies would be great too:thumbup1:

Let me know specific dates when you are in town. A few of us are heading to Gold Bridge, Seton Portage over the long w/e barring any fire evacuations. If the timing works for you, you are welcome to join.

Studding tires, you should PM Mountainman - he is the "seasoned" pro.

That sounds like a ride more suited to my XT. Unfortunately I'm taking my cbr125 instead. With my stock street tires I can do dirt roads and loose gravel fine, but nowhere near as fast as a DS can. On well packed roads I can top 100, but on loose maybe only 30km/h. So I would probably be holding you guys back. How long would the whole ride take? I'll be arriving in Vancouver Mon or early Tues, then heading to Victoria around Wed.

How is the traffic up around whistler? Last year I remember it being backed up for miles!

Some sections are smooth as a race track; however there are still some 50km construction zone sections.
Ride can be done in a day; however we are camping for 2 nights in the area.
