Biker gear in NYC
 

I live in Bombay, India, but will be in NYC soon for a few days. I want to buy some essential biker gear (jacket, pants, boots, goggles, gloves). I'd appreciate any advice on where to get reasonably priced gear (non-Alpinestars prices) in the city and what I should ideally buy for the purpose of riding in India.

I won't be riding in extreme climate and it's not for commutes either - for tours in the south (warm) as well as excursions near the Himalayas (cold). Thus, I guess I should be looking for non-leather pants and jacket with removable liners, right?
