Visa for Sudan
 

Advice wanted..........

I will be travelling down the East side early next year and am interested how you fellow overlanders have gained a visa for Sudan. I am not having much luck with the embassy so does one wait to get to Cairo and visit the Sudanese embassy there?

Sounds like that's a favourable plan. Can you go off and explore between application and having your passport stamped a few days later?

A year and a half ago, I got a Sudan visa in Cairo on an Irish passport in just a few hours. An Aussie guy was there and had the same experience. Americans can't get them at all it seems, but you should be fine with a UK passport. Do bear in mind that my info is 18 months old- things do change.

Hi,

The Sudan Embassy in Cairo is still issuing the Visa without problems. We very recently (last 3 months) met many travellers coming down (we were going up) who got there visa in Cairo the same day! Cost US 100,-
