TSH by bicycle
Hello to all of you,
understanding, this is mainly a forum for the motorized travellers, i wonder if anyone can help me and my esmeralda (the bicylcle). Having searched the forums throughout the web, the situation in Algeria seems to be very unstable and not recommendable for individual tourists at all. so far so bad. is there, nevertheless, any chance to cross the sahara southbound from Algeria on to Niger over Trans Sahara Highway by bicycle? What about the compulsory guides - i assume, they are not as masochist to join me on the bicycle. So, does this mean, by bicycle YES, but loaded on a truck, organized by one of the touroperaters mentioned in this forum? Or, even worse, is it simply IMPOSSIBLE to discover Algeria "by bike"? Not loaded in a truck but followed by a car all the way which, at 1500 miles to the Niger border, would be very expensive indeed.
