Truck across to Morocco

Hi Any of you kind people have any idea what the likely cost of taking my 10 tonne Merc 4x4 (length 9M, width 2.4M, Height 3.6M) across to Tanger or Cueta from Algeciras? Can't seem to find a sensible answer from the Web sites.

Thanks

If This help's
Ferries to France, Ireland, Holland, Spain and Italy from the UK
You could try putting in Motorhome up to 11m ,this should give you a rough idea of what to expect.

If your truck can pass as a "Campervan" [and my Unimog does] it will be 190euro return............done it 3 times this year for that cost!

Thanks people. Detourer was that with Comarit on a slow ferry or on a fast boat? I'm too tall for the latter-well not me but you know what I mean.

That is with any [most] of the ferries on the Alg-Ceuta route. I think the cost is going up a bit from end of June......But , if you wish......

Use my agent/partner for best price/discount and all the paperwork needed [vehicle and entre/exit forms that will be issued with ticket]..............IndoTour, ask for Imillio on 0034 956634153. Make sure you say Ray from DesertDetours sent you. Book over phone and collect from shop opposite carpark just past second round a bout on dock front road from east..........

Thanks for that Ray. I'll certainly do that but I'm not off until October.

All the best

Hi Quintin

I am going over to Morocco, with the Unimog camper, on/around 8th Oct......If you are around then you can join the group just for the crossing and take advantage of my discount/contract ferry cost..........

Quintin 19 May 2007 19:04

Thanks for the offer

Sadly I'll have to be about 2 weeks behind you Ray. Tedious things like work and all that but then............ we're away for 3 months+.

Any reason why you go to Cueta rather than Tangiers by the way? Only gone in via the latter and never found it any hassle.

Thanks again

be aware

If your vehicle is a Motorhome then you are okay.

BUT, if your truck could still, arguably, be described as a commercial vehicle then DO NOT enter by Ceuta - but go via Tanger.

If in doubt, go Tanger first off...

One way is approx Eur270 for a commercial hgv/lgv.

Sam.

Hi

Can't see the problem with Ceuta......Maybe its because they know us so well there.......we cross very month bar june/july/aug and always in either a DAF YA4404 or Unimog and tailer. Use Ceuta because its cheap and works well as we always head south or southeast.

This gets through no probs as a Motorhome.

hmm?

Your Unimog looks (a little) like a Camperhome - ours don't! Both are gear-carrying trucks (no windows etc.). Perhaps that's the difference?!

Sam.
