trip to Niger
 

I'm travelling from Spain to Niger by land during next June. It seems from the books (West Africa rough guide, Sahara Overland) that it is possible to obtain visas for Mauritania and Mali in Rabat or Nouakchott (for Mali), but I did not read that it was possible to obtain visa to Niger. Does anybody know if it is possible to obtain it or I should get it from the Niger Paris embassy. Thanks and congratulations for the web site.

by 'next June' do you mean in 4 weeks time?!

We'll be in Niger in July (having come down from Libya-Algeria). What are you doing after Niger?!

I will be working in Niamey at least for the next 8 months (until
February 2001). I will be based in an agricultural research center.
Before leaving by car I am flying to Niger next week and coming
back at the end of the month. After that my friend in Spain will
hopefully have the car ready to cross the sahara from the second
week of June onwards. We plan to go through Marocco,
Mauritania, Mali. We feel the algerien route is a little dodgy, at
least starting from Spain. And also we are not experienced with
desert travelling.

If you arrive to Niamey in July we'll probably be there. My telephone
