Trip time

I have 3 weeks holliday and I am thinking of driving to Senagal or Mauritania. I am planning to go like hell thru France, Spain and Northern Moroco. Will I be able to reach the Mauritanian border in a week. I am thinking about getting Mauritanian vizas in London so I could have full week and a bit exploring Mauritania and Senegal. So the question is. Is it possible to cover the above mentioned distance without too much strain or am I just being over optimistic?

Hi Remi
I did the trip UK to Nouakchott, Mauritania in just three weeks, without much strain, but I wouldn't advise it.
Allow a month, and be happy to do it in less.
Problems beyond your control are douanes, road checks, Ramadan schedules, national holidays, miscellaneous grief, aggro, break-downs and traveller's fatigue!
Give yourself time, and enjoy...
Here is my last journey-log from three years back, driving a tired old Land Rover Ser 111 diesel:
Depart UK January 27th
Spanish border reached in 4 days
Tangier 7 days
Agadir 2,345 miles 9 days
TanTan 11 days
Dakhla 14 days
Nouadhibou 19 days
Nouakchott 22 days
Happy travels and good luck

Remi, I think you are being well optimistic. With one driver in an old 4x4 I think its going to be difficult to cover ground any quicker than below:
Le Harve - Marbella 2 days
Marbella - Marrakesh 1 day
Marrakesh - Dhakla 2 days
then allow for formalities
2 nights in Dhakla (1 night if you get there early the day before)
1 night at border
1 night at Nouadhibou
