Ténéré crossing
 

Friends. I wish to share with you our exciting adventure. We traveled from Tiguidit, through Godofowa to Gasso Lolombo. This whole area is an spectacular journey of geology, archeology and shear beauty! We then crossed the erg from Gasso Lolombo to Zoobaba which appears that such crossing has never been done before. We traveled with a remarkable guide from Agadez, Mohamed Aghali, who is regarded as one of the most Knowledgeable guides specializing on the Ténéré. The erg in that area is breathtaking, but very difficult 4wd. We had 5 cars and 11 guides. Good travels!

Sounds like a great trip. Gosso to Zoubaba is not so radical - I've heard of similar runs - but it's certainly off the salt route.
