Sudan visa in Cairo?

Anyone has recent experience with application for Sudan visa in Cairo?
Is it still easy?

you can get it way easier in Aswan if you will be going there while you are waiting for the famous ferry to Halfa

Sudan visa in Cairo is not easy. They asked for official invitation from Ministry in Khartoum. I dicide to fly to Aswan, There I got my visa without invitation
