Some photos of our trip through Algeria/Niger/Nigeria
Hi everybody,
We just returned from our trip through Algeria to Cameroun and have made an online report. It is in dutch, but I added a link so that it can be 'translated' to English and French. You can find info on our route and a lot more. http://www.bitcab.com/sahara/ We thank everybody here for their help when we were preparing our trip and we hope that we can contribute to succesful adventures of others. Thanks a lot for this report .
Just a question (I can't understand dutch) : It seems , during your trip between Taleb Larbi and Djanet , it was possible to sleep (bivouac) where you want and not close from a police's post or something like that . Is it true ? RR. |
Bivaouc
Hi Roro,
Yes indeed this is true, whenever possible we camped in the desert. At one time we were forced by the police to camp at their station - but this was only because we arrived at a late hour (after five) and it was getting dark already. This happened at the checkpoint after In Amenas. It was really a pity because the dunes around us were all so beautiful and now we had to sleep in the halogene light enduring the sounds of the diesel generator. The guards, however, gave us a delicous meal and soft-drinks. Bye, Martin |

Martin, what is the proper full website address please? www. ??? ??????
I want to refer others to your site and not have to log on to the Sahara Hubb each time. Some uesful stuff about security, conditions, roads and border formalities there even though the automatic translation makes it difficult at times! Good photos and a help to others.
