How tough does the Trans-Sahra Ride through Algeria to Niger get? (not talking about the locals)

Not planning on going "off the beaten track" or riding at night. I have good offroad experiance bit no desert experiance.
Got a good bike, gps and should be well prepped.
I'll be there in Dec?Jan

I reckon you will be fine if a bit freaked out at times. It's the way I first did it and its easy to meet up with other travs (esp in busy winter), bike of car, to go with for remote/tricky bits like Tam Arlit.

It will be a great ride
