Rding Travel Time Between Wadi Halfa and Khartoum

I'm about to attempt the ride between Wadi Halfa and Khartoum in a few weeks time and wanted to inquire about a general riding time needed to ride between Wadi Halfa and Khartoum. I realize that the rate of speed is extremely variable, but I was wondering if anyone with recent experience can tell me for a moderate rider how many days I should expect? I want to be as prepared (water, fuel, food, etc.) as possible. Thanks in advance for your time.

The roads are better now then they used to be but I will say three days.

Yes, 3 days easy.

1 day, all pavement, Khartoum - Dongola.

2 days, a mix of pavement and construction by-pass gravel roads. Much of the road is paved already, but blocked due to work on the drainage culverts/bridges along the route. The bypass routes are well graded, no or little sand - just your ordinary hard-packed gravel route.

Probably sometime in 2010 or 2011, Wadi Haifa to Dongola could be covered in 1 day (about 450km total).

All times are GMT +1. The time now is 13:02.
