northbound to morocco--border formalities?
 

Hello all,

I have emailed a few folks about heading north from Mauritania into Morocco along the Atlantic route. I've gotten conflicting answers regarding the necessity of a guide and whether or not the crossing is allowed by the Moroccans. If anyone could shed some light on the situation, that would be much appreciated (as well as GPS waypoints if you think that would be of use).

Yep, the border is open.

There is no need for a guide in case you have a GPS (use the WPs found in Mauritanie au GPS). If unsure or alone hire a guide or hook up with turists going your way.

If coming along railway line from east, don't take the road signposted Dakhla, it's too early. Continue west and take next large piste north. I have the lat-long somewhere of that point if you want to email me.
