Morocco to Senegal (end november 2010)

Hello !
Anyone's planning to cross Western Sahara and Mauritania at the end of November, beginning of December 2010, who'd like to hook up with us ? We're on a Transalp and we'll be in Essaouira in October/November.
Cheers

Hi Peter,

Thanks for your reply. If you start from Malilla, I believe you will go through Ketama and Chefchaouen ? We're staying at the hotel Baraka in the medina of Chefchaouen, I recommend it ! Just park outside of the medina, get a dude to watch after it and another to lead you to it in the medina. Joseph will take his scooter to drive you back to your bike and guide back to his hotel. He's also got a locked and guarded place outside the medina if there are many bikes to shelter. Nice folks and superb riad there. 15 euros a day, breakfast included. Tell Joseph you know us, he'll be extra cool. :)
Apparently Ketama has a bad reputation of being a dangerous place to hang around due to the aggressiveness of the hashish dealers along the main road. Joseph advises to take the secondary pistes and meet the real peasants there. Dunno, we haven't tried. But our little afternoon ride to Akchour on the road to Tetouan was very pleasant.
Restaurants we'd advise to visit in Chefchaouen:
Hassada, just 20m away from Baraka hotel, Darcom and Aladdin.
Take a walk in the medina to the new looking mosque up the mountain, you'll pass what they call "The Source" here, very nice site to cool down.
Beware, we even had a dude trying to sell us hash five meters away from two cops... :)
After 15 days of pure bliss, we're finally leaving for Fez and Meknes tomorrow. Then we'll go to Rabat to get some visas and then we'll head towards Essaouira where we hope we can rent a place for a month or two.
Let us know when you get there. ;)
What are you riding ? Where to ? Are you on your own ?
Cheers
