Mauritania to Morocco - Yellow fever?

Can anyone advise whether a yellow fever certificate is needed to cross the land border from Mauritania to Morocco. I've read that anyone entering Morocco from a country where it's endemic (such as Mauritania) needs a certificate.

Anyone had any experiences? Thanks.

Yes, it is... at least in therms of law
Also Mauri pretend the certificate, but, noone ask me for, when passed through (2003)

Cheers

nope!

technically you need it if you are travelling from an area which has yellow fever, none of the countries that border mauritania do I believe. I have never been asked for it travelling gambia, senegal, mauritania or morocco.

yellow fever - mauritania

I got asked to produce my vacination certificate a couple of weeks ago in mauri. Its worth getting and a small cost as it last's 10 years. I carry the certificate for cholera aswell, ask for it (just the certificate) at the same doctors and fill it in yourself on a yearly basis. It's great to be able to produce the certificate's when a smart arse ask's for them when he can't find anything else wrong.

As already said, the yellow fever certificate is mandatory in Mauritânia. As allways, you can "buy" your way out of trouble in case you don't have any and someone in a uniforme asks you for it.
