Does anyone know a decent hotel nearby the Mauretanie embassy in Rabat.

Depends what you mean by "nearby". I've stayed at Hotel Yasmine in central Rabat. Easy to find, just look for signs to Hotel Rabat and its behind it. The night porter will guard your bike overnight for a few quid.

Walk around corner and flag down local Fiat taxi to take you to Mauri Embassy. About 5 minute journey and cost £2. If you allow hotel to call taxi for you then you will get Merc but cost £10:thumbdown:

The Sofitel 'Jardin des Roses' and Rabat Hilton are less than 7 mins walk from both the Maliand and Mauritanian embassies but $$$
