Mauretania: Tidjikja - Kiffa
 

I'm planning a trip to Bamako via Atar. From Tidjikja the shortest route seems directly to Kiffa via El Gheddiya as shown on the Michelin map. But this route is neither descriped in Chris' book or Maritanie au GPS. Both books only descripe the route Tidjikja-Sangrafa-Kiffa. I can't get a clear answer from the IGN 1:200.000 as well. Can anyone advise me on the route to take? Thnx Jurjen.

Looks interesting doesnt it, but I must say I have never heard of anyone doing it.
The Mich map does have a habit of depicting some pistes (or even just ancient routes) with inappropriate emphasis - but let us know anyway...

I just go back from 24 days in Mauritania. No one recommended that route with just one car. It is difficult drive and vehicles are recommended. I was supposed to take that route until I was discouraged.
