Mauratanian Visa's in 20 minutes
 

We've just picked up our Mauritanian Visa's in Casablanca and expected to be asked for return air tickets, Carnets etc and a libit of hassle...but none of it. Lisa (my wife) and I pitched up at 9:30am with a copy of our passports and two passport photos, paid 400 Dirham(in total)for two sixty day Visa's and picked them up at 12:30 same day. We met a couple of friends in line who'd applied at 12:10 and picked up there's 20 minutes later.

Guess things are relaxing or maybe we were just lucky.

A general warning:
There's a well dressed SoB who tries it on at the consulate. This morning he got 200 dirham off each of us for the 30 day visa. We discovered later that THE VISA IS STILL 100 DIRHAM!
Once we had our passports in hand, we kicked up a fuss and eventually the man gave us back the 200 we had overpaid. It was quite public and the consul himself was involved.

..he's still at it! We kicked up a fuss and he backed down to 100 dirhams today. I'm not sure that even that is the official price if indeed there is one. The visa itself shows a price of far less. A bunch of us all arrived at 9.30am and waited until 12.30 for our passports to be returned

Incidentally, I tried in Rabat first and there is sign on the wall at the consulate saying one must go to Casablanca
