Leaving my car in Africa
We're planning a long trip through Libya,Niger,Mali,Mauri on next October and we are lookin for "place" to leave our cars (2) in Niger or Mali for less than one year .
This is to split our trip in 2 parts because it seems too long ( we take a round trip by air beetween these 2 parts ). Does anybody have this experience ( or a similar one ) ? The other option is to put our cars on a ship in Dakar but it seems a little expensive . What do you think about that ? Thanks for your replies . RR. |
I remember meeting an Italian couple in Niger, who did something simular while they drove from RSA and northwards to get to Italy. They did it in 3-4 month stages at a time. They had been lucky enough to find ex-pats in various countries, who had allowed them to park their LR for 6-9 months each time before flying back down to continue.
I think your best chance would be to find (and get to know) an ex-pat in a larger town/city while your down there. Unless you're lucky, and someone living down their who reads this forum offers a place to park! http://www.horizonsunlimited.com/ubb/smile.gif ------------------ |
Thanks for this reply .

Its probably a diversion but in Gambia there are two campsites that are reliable.
