what's about GPS in Algeria, is it forbiden ?, must we hide it,

I've never had problems at checkpoints down south but at all borders it pays not to show it, sats phones, CBs, etc. If anything Tunis port can be more of a hassle with GPS units.

We had it mounted on the windshield when entering Algeria at Bou Chebka. They didn't say a word.
But when we left at Timiaouine they asked if we had a GPS and didn't readily believe us when we said it was brought in without being registered.
