From Tanger to Niamey
 

Hi there, will be going down morocco, mauritania, mali, burkina faso and niger. Taking the tarmac all the way from tangier to the border to mauritania and from there i'll try to adjust as it goes. my wife is in niamey so that will be my final destination, any sugestions on routes? how's mauritania-mali border crossing nowadays?

We crossed mauritania mali earlier this year so things might have change. We took a very tiny offroad border from Selibaby to Kayes. Was easy. But like you said, there is a brand new road on a mauritania side which goes to Mali, we met a lot of people who did this and no one complained. Have a great time! Mali was one of my favorite country in whole Africa. No corrupted polices :D
