There are a couple of ferries that run between Jeddah and the Egyptian ports on the Red sea but your main problem will be trying to get a land transit visa from the Saudis.

If you are in UK best to visit their consular outlet and ask about viability.I would go personally and not bother to phone.Single females in your party will probably kill it before it starts(unfortunately). I have transited Saudi from Dubai twice but then have been refused on the third time. That was in 2011 and the 'excuse'was heightened protection for non Muslims. I have heard rumors that this has been relaxed so I hope others can comment here.

I have tried to get local people in the UAE bikers forum to pressure the Saudi embassy in Dubai to make it easier to reach UAE and Oman by road from the North but the Saudis are reluctant.

I drove from Dubai to UK via Iran in 2011-12 and it was a fab trip. You might be able to do that then ship from UAE/Oman but I realize this adds squillions of days and dollars to your plan.
