Does anyone know or has a western person contact in Aswan??
 

Hi,

After two years traveling around the world, we left Egypt in May, us on a plane and the bikes by boat to Spain.

One of the bikes had no carne passage so we left a money deposit in Aswan customs but they made a little mistake with the owners name so as the check doesnt match the name, we can not get the money back, this mistake has to be fixed in Aswan customs.

Does any of you know of a western person in Aswan that I could contact to help us??

I'm afraid that money is pretty much gone, the system is cleverly designed so that you can only do things in person. Such 'mistakes' do happen in that fine land.

Hi Andrasz, we made a power of attorney for the company that arrange the shipping but problem is that there is a small difference with the name so name must be changed in Aswan Customs.

Hi Jose,

You might want to do some research with the hotels in Aswan. Some of them, actually many of the better ones, have foreign managers. Some overlanders have recommended the Philae Hotel whose manager Hanna speaks German and is known among overlanders (or at least was in the past). She might know how to help.
