Diesel in Morocco

I have just got back from Guelmin where I picked up some diesel at Fask on the Assa road out of Guelmin It had alot of water in it enough to fill the water trap and stop the engine in the camp site ith next morning. We empted the water and got it going 150 Km later the pump stayed on full power assuming the water had done the damage I replaced the pump and it seized 150Km later breaking the cam belt my Pinzgauer is now in a continer on its way to UK. It was a big Ziz garage I will post the results of tests when I get them back

Do you think this is a regular problem then? Strange to get it from a big station as they would get complaints from locals soon enough if everyone had similar problems....

Do you think it would have worked to first fill a plastic water bottle to look for water or is that not going to work? The water would be at the bottom of the stations tanks but the fuel would be pulled from near the bottom I'd guess so if the water in there was to the height of the outlet pipe it should show in the first liter as much as in the last. But I've no knowledge of how fuel station tanks are designed.
