Hi Andy... tks for the reply!

I think that anyone venturing so far outside their own 'comfort zone' does so with just a little trepidation. I know that Maroc is probably a walk in the park compared with deep Saharan travel, but a first timer like me is surrounded by fears (and has a wife who thinks I'm going to be carried off by Berbers and sold into the white sex slave trade) that the nano-second you stray off the known path you're going to have a puncture, lose a tyre lever, break a leg AND simultaneously run out of food, fuel and water... Now, my sensible head says that's probably not going to happen, but by the same token it's not like just nipping down to Tesco is it?

Having said all that, me and my mate Ro-Bear have finally agreed on dates (I think) and it looks like we're off for the first three weeks in October. I'm converting the small bedroom into an office / trip-planning centre and last week I bought myself a 950S from those awfully nice chaps at Jim Aim in Halstead, but Rob is stuck in the GS rut, although as he is still yet to get a bike I might just be able to corrupt his sense of brand loyalty!
Anyone you know what to buy a well cared for Pan European or a TRX850?

I'm off to ask more silly questions ... catch you later!!

Don't be too concerned Greg, Morocco is one of the safest places for biking and you'll have a ball. I've been to Morocco 17 times in total, five times on a bike. My first Moroccan bike trip in 1972 was on a 1960s TriBSA cafe racer with clip-ons, rear sets and a racing gearbox. Luggage was balanced on the tank.

I'm doing a session on Morocco at the HUBB meeting in June. Chris Bright is also doing a session on Morocco, so why not come along and get some ideas?
