Broken in Tamanrasset
 

Gidday,
I arrived in Tamanrasset a couple of days ago and after a fair bit of laying about decided to take a look at the bike (BMW R100). On removal of tank discovered that both cradle tubes are completely broken about 10 inches down from the top of the steering head! Which explains the wobble I didnt remember having in the past. Just glad I didnt take the tank off several hundred kms ago in some complete hell hole.
So does anybody know where is a good place to weld her up here or should I start collecting shopping bags!

Plenty or metalbashers and welders on the south end of town - should be an easy job, esp if they manage to stick a sleeve on it.

all sorted for now, Ill just have to modify my riding habits and pray.One catch is now Im giving the mechanic a ride to Cameroon which I hear is nice this time of year. Oh what the hell!

Have a swim at Cable beach on my behalf and a perv at the Kimberley Club, plus say Gidday to Perth if you are going back that way. Tell me if you would like a bed there.
