Bilma to Faya is there a route?

Is there a route between Bilma and Faya that is passable by motorcycle?

Seguedine-Zouar piste is mined around Col Yei Lulu just before the Chad border, and there are also mine fields further north

Thanks for your reply Ursula. Do you know if there are guides available or is it not worth the hassle? We will more likely be heading down to Nguigmi and then on to Ndjamena but we would like to explore other options.

Met a french expat in Ndjamena who was finishing up and riding his KTM back to france by driving north on a bearing to almost level with Blima then cutting across to there. He believed it was possible although he was heading cross country in Chad and was going to use a mate driving in a LR to carry extra fuel - this was before he had done it so don't know if he was successful but he had done alot of planning towards it.

Hi Andrew!
I know the Erg of Bilma only from the tchadian side. It is very difficult to drive even for cars! Very soft sand, no piste no nothing at all

Maybe you like to write to Ralf:
He drove from Nguigmi to Bilma, the main Lorry-"piste":
